Club Max Inspiration - Youth gym

Saturday and Sunday mornings 9.30 - 11.30am

The Club MAX Youth Gym at The Park Leisure Centre features a range of junior-sized equipment, including pursuit cycles, fluid rowers and elliptical trainers. The vast majority of equipment is suitable for children with disabilities but, as in all things, not everything will be suitable for all.

Within the youth gym there is an “Interactive wall” and a Wii Fit which are fantastic ways for children to exercise whilst still having fun.

Please be aware that the Interactive Wall is quite noisy and has flashing lights.

We also have 2 Motomeds which are designed for wheelchair users. The user can remain in their chair whilst still experiencing cardiovascular, circulation and muscular benefits from the motor-driven motomed.

Club MAX is available exclusively for children with disabilities on both Saturday & Sunday mornings from 9.30am to 11.30am. All children and young adults must be accompanied by a parent, carer or guardian on a one-to-one supervision basis. There will be a member of the Leisure Centre staff available to offer any help or advice.

If you have any special requirements please contact the Leisure Centre in advance.

PlayMAX INSPIRATION - Indoor play area and sensory room

PlayMAX Inspiration is our newly created indoor play area and sensory room for children and young people with disabilities.

It’s a safe environment for children with disabilities and challenging behaviour.

Children and young adults with a range of disabilities, who had previously had little opportunity to take part in safe, indoor play and social activities, can now interact, experiment, observe, socialise, challenge, connect, enjoy and above all else have fun!

Soft Play Area

The soft play area contains various wedges, waves, logs and steps, slide, ball pool, trampoline, illuminated cabin and interactive musical hopscotch, upturned mushroom which rocks from side to side, sensation trail and funky slouch pods.

Sensory Room

Situated within the soft play area we have created a highly flexible, controlled multi-sensory stimulation environment using lighting effects, colour, sounds, scents and textures.

The sensory room is designed for people with sensory, cognitive and physical impairments and meets the challenge of both the interactive and the passive user through educational and therapeutic activities.

PlayMAX Inspiration soft play area and sensory room will allow us to further develop existing relationships with the relevant sectors in the NHS, Education, social care and the disability charities.
